can you include using above tools for the images
in the referance as well for better control as when we double click on the image it is grayed out
i mean the image used as a reference
dose it snap at the edge or the corner of the image?
also mirroring about using object like a curve as a reference and not only using a plan for 3d sketch is a great way for productivity.
The image is a background. There are no snap access to pixels in the image. We just draw over it with the sketch tools and use the sketch, then dump the image later.

Hi Liangfen,
LESS IS MORE can anyone convince ZW that is actually TRUE!
In constraints 2024 the option for Offset defaults at NO. But why is it even an option. A 0 value is totally effective.

@Cowboy99
Yes, some of the default initial values are not satisfactory
If you are familiar with mapkey manual editing, I can share your solution for this situation.
Would love to see âSheet metal stylesâ from Inventor/Fusion 360. Makes life a lot easier when working with complex assemblies that have varying sheet metal parts with different thicknesses, bend radius, etc etc.
More information here: Help
Basically makes it very easy to change attributes of all sheet metal parts by updating the style instead of every part or a parameter.
I think would be great if ZW3D had support for pen tablet (display/non-display) users (Huion, XP-Pen).
here is what I think for the next version:
- Numpad/Keypad windows will auto-show when the pen clicks/select textbox input.
- 3D maneuver will be easier without pressing any modifier (for non-touch devices), generally pen has 2 buttons and a nib press (3 buttons). Will be excellent if can be configured to map that function. ZW3D standard mouse settings are good for pen tablet users to use for panning and orbit but not for zooming.
- Just add more roles to accommodate it I think.
- A cleaner and sleek UI will be good.
- SubD modeling.
Thanks
Quality control and testing. z3 is already good enough on the surface. If Z3 would make things that already are there, work properly it would be the best cad in the world. It is utter mess right now unfortunately. I could try to list all the bugs, (2024) but there are so many i dont know where to even start.
That is how I see it too.
I have reported my problems to ZW Support so many times.
And then a year later the new version comes out and the same problems again.
They should listen to us users and fix the errors and not just keep adding new functions.
Hi,
There are so many things I would propose, I donât know where to start.
Have you an idea of a deadline for this topic purpose?
Here is something I would gladly see in a new version, unless there are ways to do such things that I am missing).
At assembly level, using the components âRĂ©pĂ©tition(French name)â feature, I wish there was a mode equivalent to point to point, but with datums, so that the resulting component at logically oriented.

Nicolas.
I wish something similar to the Triball from Ironcad be implemented.
I know it is now owned by a Chinese company CAXA, but maybe world patent is expired or maybe they would license it out?
Anyone that has used and understands the Triball knows it makes design a lot easier and faster.
Something that Ironcad/ZW3d needs to implement with the âIntelliShapeâ, is that when one slides an âIntelliShapeâ feature from the Catalog Browser, that it can be constrained to the face of a âIntelliShapeâ or part similar to how a sketch dimension or constraint is made. Also that can be edited without going into a sketch and viewable at anytime so as to move that âIntelliShapeâ on the face of the âIntelliShapeâ or part.
They have what they call Innovative and Structured parts. It defaults to Innovative, and Structured
is hidden and I think is why some give up on Ironcad.
Structured allows for âIntelliShapesâ to be attached to points on other âIntelliShapesâ or
features. With Innovative mode it will snap to the points but will not stay attached when resizing.
I prefer Structured mode.
Thanks, Ryan
