Hello,
I’m experiencing an issue with 2D sheets where the program becomes very sluggish and stuttery, especially when I try to add dimensions, balloons, centerlines, text, or other symbols.
While creating or projecting new views takes a few seconds—which is acceptable—moving these views is somewhat slow but still manageable. However, adding symbols and dimensions, which I’d assume are simpler for the program to process, causes much more noticeable stuttering and slowdowns compared to placing or moving a view.
Could you please assist me in resolving this issue?
Thank you!
I am running ZW3D 2025
OS: Windows 10
CPU: i7 7700 HQ 2.8 GHz
GPU: GTX 1060
RAM: 16 GB DDR4
I’d try refreshing my User Folder.
Save a copy of the old one.
There is a while Help Section on User Folder management.
Please report back.
cheers - Paul
Tried and didnt work.
I suspect the issue might be with my custom templates. Another problem is that I can’t change the scale of a view once it’s placed. Interestingly, when I use a default template like ISO, everything works fine.
Previously, I used custom templates in ZW3D 2024, and they worked perfectly. However, after copying them to ZW3D 2025, they started behaving oddly. For example, details became unusable, sections were incomplete, many lines were missing, and hatching appeared randomly.
To address this, I decided to recreate the templates from scratch, following the same steps I used for ZW3D 2024:
- Opened a new 2D sheet.
- Edited the custom title block, sheet border, and styles.
- Saved everything to the resources folder.
Despite this, I’m still experiencing issues. Is there a proper or recommended way to create custom templates to ensure they work correctly in ZW3D 2025?
That’s a lot of Variables to think about with out having seen any of it?
You might need to open each template in 2025 , refresh it. Tidy up any anomalies then Save in 2025 format.
Seems overkill, as I would expect them to work from almost any version.
Re creating Template.
The best practice is to edit the Title Block by opening the Title Block directly from ZW. You’ll have to open from the Resource Folder.
Then It should be in the drop down list when creating a Custom Drawing/Template. This is far better than changing and Instance inside a Drawing Sheet.
Sheet Boarder is part of the Drawing Template.
Customized Styles should also be exported to a Safe location for future Importing.
However your display problems are outside my experience.
Cheers- Paul
Thank you for your time. I figured it out.
The problem was that I had some text and symobols as part of the templates so that I could only drag and drop it where I needed and I wouldnt have to write or place it again and again in every new sheet. When I deleted that from the templates and left only sheet border and title block the problem went away.
