Hi, I have a problem with the BOM user parameter. The thing is that when I create my own user property in the BOM in the attributes and add it to the BOM in the 2D drawing, it is displayed. Then I save the BOM as a template. So far everything is fine. But when I create a new part and insert the BOM I saved there with my own defined property, it is no longer displayed (user property) and saved. Any ideas how to do it or where is the mistake? I made a video of this issue - bom_issues - TechSmith Screencast
Is the User Attribute Part of your Part Template?
If not, it cannot be displayed from a new part.
Edit your Part Template by adding the User Attrib and Save.
Thanks for your respond.
Yes, i have User Attribute saved in Part Template. You can see it in the video attached in my post. Problem is, that i don´t how to save it permanently in 2D BOM template.
Hi VojteCZ, Maybe something different from What I have done in version 2022.
I created a new BOM template and filled it with a mixture of regular and user parameters.
I saved is under an unique name in the user folder of zw3d, not in the installation folder, which is always trouble with saving customized templates and libraries.
I keep the folder names for the customized stuff the same as in the original locations, only this path (below) is located in the user folder:
C:\Users<login name>\AppData\Roaming\ZWSOFT\ZW3D\ZW3D 2022\custom\supp\custom.Z3BOMTT
that folder can contain templates from BOM and also templates from the style manager in drawings.
If that fails in version 2025, I think that ZW support schould run some tests on their side.
Good luck!
Thank you for the tip Luurt. I tried it, but unfortunately it still doesn’t work. I contacted official support aswell, but any useful respond. I really don´t know how to do it.
